Domestic Violence and Domestic Abuse

We use the terms Domestic Violence and Domestic Abuse interchangeably to define the pattern of behaviors used by one partner to maintain power and control over another partner in an intimate relationship. Other terminology that can be used is Intimate Partner Violence, Partner Violence, Relationship Violence, and Teen Dating Violence.
